Position Overview:

The Plumbing Service Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily field operations of the plumbing service team. This position involves managing plumbing technicians, ensuring work quality, adherence to safety standards, and providing excellent customer service. The supervisor will also collaborate with management to drive productivity and ensure project deadlines are met while maintaining a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support a team of plumbing technicians in the field to ensure timely and quality completion of service calls and projects.
  • Coordinate and assign daily work schedules, ensuring proper coverage for emergency and routine plumbing jobs.
  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure adherence to company standards, safety protocols, and customer expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical expertise on complex plumbing issues when needed, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Review job performance, provide coaching, and assist in employee development and training.
  • Ensure all necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available for technicians to complete their tasks efficiently.
  • Communicate with customers, providing updates on job progress, ensuring satisfaction, and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Monitor job costs, time tracking, and ensure accurate and timely documentation for billing purposes.
  • Collaborate with management to improve field service processes and enhance team productivity.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in performance evaluations, recruitment, and hiring of new plumbing staff as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; plumbing-related certifications or journeyman/master plumber license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with both team members and clients.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools, walk, stand, kneel, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and heights.

Work Environment :

  • Regular field visits to job sites and client locations.
  • May involve exposure to hazards typical of plumbing work, such as water, gas, and waste systems.
