Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. is looking for a Foreign Language Interpreter (Spanish/English), who will be responsible for listening to, understanding, and translating spoken or written statements from one language to another and reproduce statements in another language for unique listening or reading audience.

Multiple Office Locations in Maryland: Frederick, Gaithersburg, Westminster, Baltimore, or Greenbelt
Compensation: $21.00/hr - $25.50/hr
Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week, 8 Hour Days. Typical office hours are Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 7:00 pm, schedules may vary. Must be available to support at least 2 late shift days per week.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak a similar language by converting one spoken or written language to another.
- Speak, read and write fluently in at least two languages, including English and Spanish.
- May be responsible for converting written materials from one language into another, such as books, publications, or web pages.
- Edit and proofread text to accurately reflect language.
- Provide language services to ABH clients with limited English proficiency.
- Assists with patient follow-up as necessary, to include contacting patients with appointment reminders.
- Provides occasional services outside of normal working hours on as as-needed basis.
- Accompany ABH clients and facilitate communication between receiving party and visitors.
- Translate patient materials and informational brochures issued by ABH and Prescribers into another language.
- Some travel is expected for this position.
- Services are typically in an office setting or virtual, but from time to time may provide services by accompanying Therapist to a home or out in the community.
- Other duties may be assigned based on the interpreting needs of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Confident in speaking in public.
- Self-discipline and self-motivation with the capacity to work consistently and under pressure, independently and as part of a team and to fit into a multicultural working environment.
- Excellent level of fluency in written and oral English and Spanish.
Minimum Qualifications: - Higher level education degree (Bachelors, Masters, etc.) from an accredited College or University; two (2) years' experience in medical setting, customer service, advocacy or related field.
- Certification/Licensure Interpreter/Translator Certificate and/or Certificate of Competency from an approved Interpreter/Translator training program preferred.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients, other administrative team members, and staff.
