ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position will be responsible for aggressive prospecting and soliciting of new branded business development in the retail gas station market throughout Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC and Delaware.
Identify opportunities through prospecting, customer relationship and account management, and other external websites and resources to assist in growing the business within existing customer base and new customers. Generation of new leads through various prospecting activities, including cold calling, canvassing, customer referrals, and business partnerships
Maintain strong sales funnel focused on new business customers and establish relationships with prospective customers through the use of various prospecting techniques
Develop and maintain practical knowledge and complete understanding of all aspects of PMG's branded fuel supply partner's marketing programs
Staying current in brands, industry news, trends, and competition
Achieve the sales objectives established by the New Business Development Director
Attend trade shows and association meetings as needed
Maintain good business by creating and promoting a strong and lasting relationship with customers understanding their needs
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST POSSES: Diligent "hunting" skills required for uncovering opportunities for petroleum supply contracts within the region primarily through cold calling within the territory to develop a solid sales funnel. Job functions are performed primarily in the field environment calling on prospective retail gas station customers.
Ability to develop and maintain excellent sales skills for penetrating new accounts
Work efficiently in a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Software as a tool to effectively manage an opportunity pipeline
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to travel approximately 35% or more of the time with some overnight travel as required

A working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe and CRM systems, as well as basic personal computer operation is needed to effectively perform this position's daily activities.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, candidate must be able to perform each of the above tasks satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability that is preferred in this role. Comparable requirements with a strong will to learn and be trained will also be highly considered. 3 + years of work experience with a fuel distributor (Jobber) or oil/fuel company.
3+ years of sales experience with a focus on new business development and account management within the fuel supply industry.
Knowledge and experience in customer management /relations.
Knowledge of convenience store/gas station operations.
Bachelor's Degree or 7 years associated experience in the fuel supply (Jobber network), fuel distribution to independent dealer industry.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Able to travel to each location throughout the week as needed in the VA/MD/DC/DE area.
Good analytical and oral/written communication skills are required.

Hours:
The Wholesale Fuel Sales Manager is a full time position and works a minimum of 40 hours per week. Position will require very flexible hours including evenings and early mornings.
Salary/Income:
The Wholesale Fuel Sales Manager is an exempt, salaried position with monthly commission. Petroleum Marketing Group, Inc.
