Direct placement with our client who is a federally focused research and design firm, based primarily in Massachusetts and Maryland. They are currently growing their facilities design team and need multiple Fire Protection Design Engineers to join their group in support of their Naval customer in Indian Head, Maryland. Their primary project is supporting a complete facility renovation of a complex lab and industrial environment. Their day to day responsibilities will include designing fire protection systems supporting construction, renovation, and modernization efforts, performing design reviews on those systems, and developing test plans for the Fire protection systems.
This work is supporting a new, five-year federal award for complete facility renovations in a complex, lab, and industrial environment. Of the 1000 buildings throughout this campus, 350+ are “explosives buildings” used for the design, manufacturing, and testing of explosive devices for the Navy.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Engineering
8+ years experience in facilities design; with 4+ years experience specific to fire protection system (FPS) design
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Federal fire protection systems design experience
