Summary of Responsibilities
Independently perform analysis and design activities in support of the facility, engineering programs and projects. Utilizing basic and advanced engineering fundamentals, as assigned, perform owner acceptance reviews of design packages developed by design agencies. Perform other engineering activities required to support facility design, configuration control, and operation. Candidate will work in the Design Safety Basis organization and depending on area of expertise will focus on criticality safety analyses or chemical dose consequence analyses.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years' experience in NCS/ISA engineering or Physics
AND either
1) Needs to be able to demonstrate the completion of a training program (e.g., ANSI/ANS-8.26) in the physics of criticality and in associated safety practices. Training records will need to be provided by candidate.

2) Chemical Dose Consequence work experience
Preferred Qualifications: - A Master’s Degree or PhD from an accredited college or university in Physics, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License obtained by accredited examination.
- 8 or more years of related work experience: of which 2 years’ experience is in a nuclear facility.
- 2-3 Years of experience at a Part 70 licensee performing licensing functions.
- Design Safety Basis Development, HAZOP, Documented Safety Analysis experience.
Essential Skills: - Criticality Safety, Chemical Dose Consequence and/or integrated safety analysis experience.
- Experience in a 10 CFR part 70 facility.
- Monte Carlo Computer code experience (MCNP or MONK preferred) for nuclear engineer candidates.
- RASCAL, ALOHA or similar computer code experience preferred for other disciplines.
- Must be able to represent the site on regulatory matters and articulate compelling arguments.
- Must be able to propose and implement changes for the facility.
Job Details - Work Location: Eunice, NM/Hybrid 50%-75% onsite. – With significant experience, can be mostly remote 25% onsite
- Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
- Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required
- Will need to be capable of obtaining the following Security Clearance Requirements: CAA Access and an L or Q level security clearance
- Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.
- Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc

Primary Functions - Develop and maintain knowledge of facility’s design and licensing basis in the assigned area of responsibility. Acquire and maintain required training and qualifications necessary to perform assigned job responsibilities. Implementation of the physical inventory program, including program planning, coordination of inventory activities and the compilation of all data collected.
- Develop resolution of technical problems in accordance with established procedures and available vendor documents (including but not limited to: Non-conformance Evaluations, Operability Determinations, and Quality Level determinations)
- Perform analysis, calculations; and develop designs in support of the assigned facility and engineering programs and projects.
- Perform technical and quality reviews of a wide array of engineering and technical products. Advanced experience levels also perform reviews of non-typical documents and situations. Including 10 CFR70.72(c) reviews (and maintaining such qualifications).
- Respond to departmental engineering inquiries, including interpreting engineering specifications and generating strategies for project/system.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced Engineering personnel in the performance of duties. Including recommendations as to what engineering methods should be used.
- Communicates and works effectively with other organizations to resolve technical issues and to implement engineering outputs.

- Apply sound engineering judgment and professional rigor in the performance of all analyses and assigned tasks.
- Maintain regulatory and schedule compliance for assigned tasks.
- Respond to departmental engineering inquiries, including interpreting engineering specifications and generating strategies for project/system implementation.
- Apply industrial safety and radiological safety practices in the performance of all field activities and engineering functions.
- Resolve and/or escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in a timely fashion.
- Ability to take direction and function as a team member to solve a variety of engineering problems in the applicable discipline.

Compensation starting at: $ 108808 - $ 131094 / year and up dependent on candidate.
