Description: Air Sweeper Operator

CAM has been in business since 1999 with 14 active divisions including but not limited to street sweeping, snow removal, building maintenance, power wash, temporary fencing and material handling. Our fleet is comprised of over 200 pieces of equipment consisting of Chevy, GMC, Ford, Freightliner, Volvo and International.

We are seeking an Air Sweeper Operator to join our team! This person will Operate an air sweeper truck to remove dirt, silt, and debris from the roadway and parking lots. The Operator will perform intermediate skilled trades work on a variety of tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, grounds, and related work as apparent or assigned.

What You Will Do:

• Operation of street sweeping equipment and other related heavy equipment or tools to sweep streets, gutters, medians, parking lots, courtyards and public works yard; clears debris from rights-of-way; cleaning storm drains and inlets.
• Identification and reporting of hazardous conditions.
• Adjustment and operation of brooms, guards, and other related auxiliary equipment; changing of brooms as necessary.
• Inspecting equipment for safety and mechanical defects; checking fuel, fluid levels, air pressure and hydraulic systems; performing preventive maintenance and reporting the need for required maintenance; inspecting auxiliary equipment for proper operating condition and safety.
• Cleaning of sweeper and auxiliary equipment as necessary.
• Responding to emergency clean-ups including spills; performing special sweeping runs as necessary..
• May be required to work outside normal work hours in on-call and emergency situations.
• Performing snow removal duties on routes designated by supervisor
• Additional Duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

• Current & valid driver’s license with 3 years of driving experience is required, CDL is a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience operating street sweeping equipment is preferred.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure with unexpected occurrences and delays.
• Attention to detail.
• Great attendance and reliability.
• Available for Flexible scheduling. Our work schedules and start times vary with weather.
• Fluent English and Spanish speaking ability is preferred.
• A willingness to come to work every day and find ways for us to improve from the previous day.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, extreme noise, odors, heights, dust, fumes and hazardous materials.
• Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to climb ladders and work off the ground
• Will require driving between company locations.
• Overnight travel- 10% or less
